The Tank, Infantry, Mk IV, Valentine was an infantry tank produced in the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Developed by Vickers, it proved to be both strong and reliable.
It was supplied in large numbers to the USSR and built under licence in Canada. They formed the main Commonwealth export to the Soviet Union under lend-lease.
By 1944, the Valentine had been almost replaced in front-line units of the European theatre by the A22, Infantry Tank Mark IV (Churchill tank) and the US-made Sherman tank.
